      A good sit-up begins with tightening the belly and pulling first your shoulders up then the rest of the back off of the ground. It should be controlled and smooth all the way through. Once upright tighten again and lower under control. You shouldn’t end up arching your back at any time as your sit yourself up or down.

      Don’t tug on your head if you place your hands behind your head
